A New Marriage Takes Flight

Oscar and Lauren are professional ornithologists – and so are most of their friends! So, naturally, they had a bird-themed wedding. Oscar and Lauren, their families and friends were a perfect match for Starry Night Barn’s rustic charm, slow pace and respect for our natural setting. Their families and friends traveled from all over the country to be here and they got a perfect, warm, and sun-shiny August day to celebrate. We wish them a happy, love-filled life and many exciting birding adventures!

We had the most amazing wedding day at Starry Night! The location was perfect for us. It provided a beautiful, relaxed, outdoor wedding - exactly what we wanted. The barn is beautifully restored and is simply gorgeous with all of the white lights. John and Meagan and the entire staff at Starry Night made the day run smoothly, making sure everything was in place and taken care of, which we really appreciated. Wedding Details

Oscar and Lauren relied on area vendors for their simple and natural wedding decor and fare. Traverse City’s Taproot catered their dinner and Third Coast Bakery decked out the dessert table with individually delicious Gluten free cupcakes with varied fillings. Lauren’s mom tacked the table settings of simple ball jars for drinking water and floating candles and larger ball jar vases filled with perfectly pink and purple hydrangeas from Omena Cut Flowers. They wrapped up the reception with their own music playlist and a DIY bar with professional bartending.
