We are client-focused here at Starry Night Barn. Our goal is to share these magical spaces with our clients, ensuring they have the time and space to create and experience their wedding and events. We typically host one event per weekend, with clients checking in on Friday and check-out is Sunday. The venue comes with the main farmhouse (sleeps 16), two cottages (each sleeps 4) – the stone cottage and log cabin – for the weekend. Clients can add nights in the cottages and farmhouse, if available.

We aim for a slower pace. There is no rush to set things up and then tear it all down hours later. Our couples, their families and friends, can revel in their celebrations and be fully present.

The venue, historic buildings, cottages and farmhouse sit on 29 acres of forested hills, fields, grassy knolls, and orchards – with just enough landscaping and planning to render a purposeful design without losing the farm feel. It’s lovely when it’s raining, when the fog rolls over the hills, when big clouds loom over the giant cottonwoods and maples or when the sun warms the creek and illuminates the barn interior like a cathedral. We encourage our guests to get out and experience Leelanau County and our local Suttons Bay shops and restaurants. A jaunt to Tandem Ciders is a must (it’s truly just a jaunt in our country-living existence) or visit our area trails and beaches to help reset the mind and body. We’re all about embracing full, unrushed celebrations of love and commitment (and beautiful, fun barn decor!)

Getting Started

We encourage potential clients and interested people to scroll through images and read about the venue, grounds, buildings and all the amazing options for guest lodging, hosting weddings, events and parties, visiting the Silo Market and Gallery and sharing in our appreciation for this little slice of Leelanau.

Dial in the Details

The cottages and farmhouse are filled with historic charm but provide everything guests need. We are so fortunate to have vendors here in Leelanau and Traverse City that offer fantastic services and are committed to quality and local sourcing to support our local businesses and families.

We are equally committed to maintaining and protecting our beautiful environment and support “green”practices for our events. Therefore, although we provide a good amount of parking for guests, we strongly encourage carpooling and shuttle services to reduce the transportation impact on the grounds. In addition, we will coordinate with caterers to provide recycling and composting options. Click on the links below to get started. We look forward to answering questions and working with you on this journey
